We have started working with NHS Social Prescribing to help socially isolated individuals reconnect with their community. On the 15th of May, we took our first step in this collaboration by meeting with a worker from Link Works – Barnsley Healthcare Federation and her client at Chestnut Court.
During our chat, we discovered that the client wants to get active, feel less isolated, and has a keen interest in horticulture. With this in mind, we knew a visit to The Helpful Heathens community allotment was in order. The link worker exchanged contact details with The Helpful Heathens and arranged for her client to join their community growing space next week.
We are excited about this new venture and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on individuals and the wider community.
