Twiggs Clean & Tidy Teams – Two New Contracts in the Barnsley Area

Our Twiggs Clean and Tidy Teams are dedicated to working with the community to improve the physical appearance of the following areas: Central, Dearne, North, and Penistone. Fully equipped to tackle unkempt areas in the community, activities including path clearance / restoration, shrub rationalisation, litter picking, minor grass cutting and hedge cutting etc. These tasks cannot be possible without volunteer involvement.

Our service comprises of three specific elements. Working with local people/volunteers, groups, businesses and services in order to increase volunteering and sustain the maintenance of local areas. We work with local businesses, supporting them in maintaining their areas, and enabling them to do that little bit extra to make our town a beautiful place to live, work and visit.

We maintain areas of blight that are identified by ourselves, the local Council Area Teams, and local people. 

Finally the third element is the education of groups and young people in relation to the environmental, economic and health impact of littering. We try to engage schools and young groups to assist in our improvement projects, educating the next generation towards a cleaner and tidier future in our community.

We hold regular meetings to help direct the areas which we target, and we are always looking for new faces to join in, have their say, and work with our team delivering clean and tidy projects.
